The new feature is linked to the feature called Screen Call, which now allows the sending of a question message. Its default content is “Hi, I'm a virtual assistant from Google in a recorded line. The person you are trying to contact wants me to check: is the call urgent?”
With the response coming from the other end of the line, Google Assistant transcribes the speech as a message for the device's screen. This makes it possible to know the reason for the call and whether the owner of the device wants to answer it or not.

For the function to be activated, during the call, the user must select the option “Ask if it is urgent”, which appears on the screen. This makes the assistant communicate your message to the person making the call.
Despite being a very interesting and useful tool, the new Google Assistant can only be used with contacts registered on the device. Furthermore, its operation only occurs on devices Pixel of lines 8, 7 and in the Fold model.
With the new feature, it is also possible for the user to send more automatic messages to the contact via the assistant. So far, it is not known whether other devices that use Google's Android system will also receive this new feature.
