hot park
Hot Park is the largest water park with naturally warm waters and is the only one in the world in this category. Located in Rio Quente, Goiás, Brazil, it is the busiest water park in Brazil. For a long time, it was believed that the warm waters that come out of the foot of the mountain, in the region of the municipality of Rio Quente, in the interior of Goiás, were the result of an extinct volcano. However, after several studies and analyses, it was concluded that the warming is caused by the Earth's heat. This is a natural phenomenon called geothermia, which occurs due to the region's natural characteristics.
The rainwater penetrates in cracks in the rocks and infiltrates the soil up to 1,200 meters deep. Every 30 meters, the water is heated to approximately 1º C, due to its proximity to the center of the Earth. This water, heated to high temperatures, gains pressure to return to the surface and mixes with the cold volume of the water table. This process results in hot water springs, with a temperature of around 37.5º C, which generate 6.5 million liters per hour and feed the complex's 13 swimming pools, including the Rio Quente Resorts, O hot park and the Cerrado beach, the largest natural warm water beach in the world.
