Much is said about dry waste, which in general is difficult to decompose in nature, with recycling being a sustainable alternative.

But have you ever stopped to think where organic waste goes?

One of biological origin, derived from a living animal or plant?

This question motivated Brasília resident Lucas Moya to think about and put into practice the Compostar project – a pioneer in the federal capital in the collection and recycling of organic waste.

Lucas explains that half of the waste generated, not only in Brasília but also in Brazil, is organic and causes effects that, many times, are not given due attention.

According to Lucas, the idea of composting is to control and optimize decomposition so that it occurs as quickly as possible, without impacting the environment, transforming organic waste into fertilizer.

Project participants pay a fixed monthly fee per residence. In the case of commercial establishments, the value will depend on the amount of garbage produced at the location.
