Once upon a time, a rat who lived in the city went to visit a cousin who lived in the countryside. The field mouse was a bit arrogant, but he was very fond of his cousin and welcomed him. He offered her the best he had: beans, bacon, bread and cheese. The city rat wrinkled its nose and said:
– I cannot understand cousin, how can you live with these poor foods. Of course, here in the countryside, it's hard to get better. Come with me and I'll show you how to live in the city. After spending a week there, you will be amazed that you could have endured country life.
The two then set out on their way. It was already dark when they arrived at the town rat's house.
“You will certainly enjoy a refreshment after this walk,” he said politely to his cousin.
She led him to the dining room, where they found the remains of a great feast. They began to eat delicious jams and cakes. Suddenly, they heard growling and barking.
- What is this? - Asked scared, the rat of the field.
- They are, simply, the dogs of the house - replied the city.
- Simply? I don't like this song during my dinner.
At that moment, the door opened and two huge dogs appeared. The rats had to flee in a hurry.
'Goodbye, cousin,' said the field mouse. -I'm going back to my house in the country.
– Are you leaving so early? - Asked the city.
– Yes, I'm going and I don't intend to come back. – concluded the first one.
Moral of the story:
Better a modest life with peace and quiet than all the luxury in the world with dangers and worries.
