When reading a newspaper, it is natural to come across news that reveal dishonesty, lack of solidarity - selfishness prevails among people. In this way, facts based on honest actions—because they are rare—are given considerable prominence. In this picture, the situation involving an employee who found an envelope with money in a workplace fits. His attitude was to return it to its owner, a fact that surprised many.
Opting for honesty, the employee proved to be a worthy man, with principles linked to the truth and knowledge of the essential values of life. Values that are not material, but that are related to the individual's conduct, to their education. He attached great importance to the truth, remained aware of its action. If the employee chose to withhold the truth, he could use the money for his own good. This means that he gave up something for himself in favor of another.
If such a situation happened to me, I would have no doubts: I would follow the employee's example. Returning belongings to the owner is a sign of respect, honesty, dignity – admirable characteristics in any individual. I'm sure honesty needs to prevail among people.
Telling the truth should be considered normal in our society, so that honest attitudes were not the target of such repercussions. Honesty should not be a surprise, but something common in everyday life. For this to happen, moral and ethical values need to be rescued, every day, in people's lives.
