The two words are often used interchangeably in everyday life. However, it is more appropriate to use the term "poisoning" when the person has had contact with toxic substances produced by animals, either because they have been bitten by a snake, a spider, a scorpion or a centipede – animals that are called venomous, since _______ venom gland is a specialized device for inject it. Or because it came into contact with frogs, caterpillars or even ate the fish known as puffer fish. This is because these are examples of poisonous animals: that is, they produce poison, do not have a device to inject it, but are capable of causing poisoning by contact by ingestion.
