night monkey

blank The coat on the body is gray and the coat on the neck varies from gray to brown. The limbs are orange or cream in color. The face is white, with black stripes on the forehead and sides. The ventral region is orange. It measures up to 47 centimeters in length, plus 42 centimeters of tail and can weigh up to one kilogram. It has extremely large eyes, which allows this animal to see well at night.

Has nocturnal habits. During the day, it sleeps hidden between branches or inside tree holes. Come out of the den at night to look for food. It feeds on leaves, fruits, eggs and invertebrates. As it is the only nocturnal primate in its habitat, it does not find competition for food during the night period.
