Did you know that…
… the word folklore comes from English: folk means people and lore, to know. Therefore, it means “science or wisdom of the people”.
Everything that people know, invent, learn, teach. So it's much closer to our lives than we can imagine. The term was coined in 1846 by English archaeologist Williams John Thoms…. the first person to study Brazilian folklore was the poet Amadeu Amaral, who died in 1929…. in addition to the stories and their characters, folklore is represented in songs and dances.
