We celebrate every year, in the April 19, Indian Day. This commemorative date was created in 1943 by President Getúlio Vargas, through decree law number 5.540.
The celebration of the Indian Day pays tribute to a wide diversity of peoples who played a fundamental role in the cultural and ethnic formation of the Brazilian population. Being here long before European colonists and African slaves, the indigenous population developed a rich culture formed by various customs, languages and knowledge that are still alive within society Brazilian.
