NAME:

The penguin that liked the heat

It was clear day when Gusmão was born. He opened his small eyes and saw the ice of his island, which reflected the morning sun. His father was Tião. He came right away saying:
– Be careful with the gang there!
“What a bunch there,” thought Gusmao.
One day, Uncle Castro came to speak with Gusmão's father:

- Did you see? The gang from there came this way to catch our fish!
- It can not be! They must be over there and we over here! – said the father Tião.
Little Gusmão didn't know that the islands divided the penguins into the group there, and the group here. And, just because of that, they didn't understand each other.
– Of course – said Father Tião – this side has better fish!
“Dad,” called Gusmão. “Maybe they're hungry.
– My son, you don't understand. They want our fish.
One day, Uncle Castro arrived shouting:
- They are coming!
The community on this side made the preparations to defend itself from the enemies there. Gusmão was curious to know what was going on, but he could only see that the penguins over there were very similar to the penguins over here. All were real penguins, like Gusmão.
Some families, tired of so many fights, went away. Some for Brazil, others for Argentina.
Uncle Castro made light of it:
– Penguins in hot places?
But Gusmão was thinking: “It must be amazing to go to Brazil, I can venture into hot countries”. And Gusmao started running after the travelers.
