Bullying is a phenomenon that does not distinguish social strata and is present in public and private schools around the world. It has similar characteristics in any country, but in Brazil it has a peculiarity: only here the majority of cases ─ 21% occur inside the classroom, and not in the school yard. This is shown in the survey O Bullying Escolar no Brasil, organized by Plan Internacional, an NGO focused on children's rights. The study is the first to cover schools from all regions of the country: 5,168 students, between 5th and 8th grade, teachers, managers of educational institutions and family members of students were interviewed. Responsible for the application and analysis of research data, Cléo Fante, educational consultant and pioneer in studies Brazilians on bullying, emphasizes that both the student-victim and the aggressor tend to lower their performance school. The first because he spends most of his time in anguish, the second because he is more distracted.
