Empowerment of. women

Gender equality is one of the most discussed topics in. social sectors in Brazil and the world. Female empowerment is about. to equate women with men in different social sectors, in a responsible manner. and democratic.

Female empowerment goes head-to-head with relationships. patriarchal, where the man retains the dominant power over the woman and maintains it. privileges superior to hers.

Female empowerment is the struggle over this domain, where a. woman gains rights that were previously subverted, such as control of her own. sexuality, freedom of expression among other things.

collective empowerment

Empowerment is related to change, as it exalts the. each individual's power to make a difference while respecting their own. essence. The mutual exchange that exists between people trying to help each other achieve. empowerment is a kind of evolution, where both win.

Collective empowerment works as a chain of good, where one person exerts power to influence the other, respecting theirs. limits and personality, accepting their choices and interests.

The individual who has been empowered has the strength to. empower others around, thus forming a domino effect, where society itself. respects and lives in a dignified and upright manner without losing freedom of expression.

Did you know that this topic is so important lately. that has even been part of academic programming in certain areas?

  • Economy,
  • Management,
  • Public health,
  • Sociology and
  • psychology

These areas have empowerment in their agendas as a theme. recurrent. But we also see the term being used a lot in areas such as politics, agencies, companies and diverse organizations.

social empowerment

The term is advocated by economists who emphasize a. importance of empowerment not just for a specific flag, but for. society as a whole. Socialists also advocate the use of empowerment. as the basis for a fairer society.

This makes sense, since the fact that a person has more. Personal freedom to make decisions based on mutual respect can improve. life itself. Personal improvement can result in successful families e. consequently well-established societies.

Origin of empowerment

The term began to be used in the late 70s. In. a sexist society, where what the man spoke was law, groups of women. began to clamor for more autonomy, for having the right to defend themselves e. Boost your self-confidence.

In this process, women strengthen their identity, exercise control over their social and personal relationships, and defend theirs. rights as persons and members of society.

Empowerment of. woman and relationship with poverty

What does poverty have to do with female empowerment? Everything. be. Poverty in Brazil has increased a lot in recent decades and exclusion. is a predominant feature in Latin America.

But the curious fact that among these statistics, the big one. The majority of poor people are female, it only increases the certainty that the. women are on an unequal level to men. Unfortunately they don't have access to. the same study opportunities and social and economic equality.

19 years ago, the IV World Conference of. Women held in Beijing and the main objective of the agenda was the renewal of. commitment to female empowerment.

Objective No. 03 of the agenda is:

“promote equality. between genders and empowering women"

At that meeting, ways to help leveling were discussed. this big difference between men and women in the economic sense and the Forum. World economic pledged not only to improve the condition of the world, but to give. empowerment to women.

5 strands of female empowerment were defined e. equal opportunity for women. Check out:

  • economic participation;
  • Political empowerment;
  • Economic opportunity;
  • Health
  • Educational achievements;
  • Welfare.

Why is it necessary. female empowerment?

This topic seems a bit tiring to debate, given the. great repercussion of society and feminist polemics. However, the theme is. very important due to some factors that lead women to be. considered inferior.

In the 21st century, women are still fighting:

  • Salary differences;
  • Division of domestic work;
  • Participation and exercise of citizenship;
  • Sexuality;

In relation to sexuality itself, there are still women in. various parts of the world that struggle against machismo, patriarchy and the. conservatism. This can affect your sexual, mental and reproductive health as a result. women become more vulnerable to sexually transmitted diseases, sexual and psychological violence.

In many cases, the woman has to face rape or. violations of their rights within their own home. Parents, uncles, cousins, friends. of parents or close ones may sexually abuse girls while they. they are encouraged not to tell anyone about it because it is. "too shameful for a woman."

Exercising empowerment requires strength, ability and. determination. United women can fight this tendency to feel. belittled, ashamed or subjected to a kind of torture just for. to have been born a woman. This fight is part of female empowerment.
