Carandaí is located in the Campo das Vertentes region, approximately 135 km from the capital of Minas Gerais. Known as Celeiro de Minas, the municipality, located 1057 meters above sea level, is the largest horticulturist in the state.
The city is crossed by the former Central do Brasil Railroad and by BR-040.
Among the tourist attractions are the Church of Nossa Senhora da Glória, listed by the historical heritage, the bandstand, located at Praça Barão de Santa Cecília, and the Cruzeiro, from where it is possible to have a complete view of the City.
Carandaí also has several farm hotels, attracting tourists from various parts of the country in search of peace. The municipality has restaurants that serve delicious typical home-made food.
