“Keep in mind that everything you learn in school is the work of many generations. Receive that heritage, honor it, add to it, and one day faithfully place it in the hands of your children.” (Albert Einstein, back to school sentences 2018)
“The great school is love: the demands of love lead to great heroism. When love is true, sacrifice doesn't hurt; the love of a teacher for his student makes him appreciate as his own good that which is more than a duty, it is a mission.” (Juan Luis Lorda, welcome phrases for the beginning of the school year)
“We must all collaborate to make the school a pleasant place.“
“Together we form a dynamic team.“
“Nobody is born ready, it takes effort and determination.“
“Education is the first step towards a better future.“
“School offers you the opportunity to become all you can be.“
“We all have the ability to improve.“
“Effort is required to succeed.“
DEAR STUDENTS, TEACHERS AND EMPLOYEES... In all peoples of the world, in all eras of humanity, what is expected of a new generation is may she learn the teachings of her elders and follow in the footsteps of those who have walked many ways. Parents expect their children to listen to them and put into practice what they teach them. Teachers are proud of the students who follow them.
O Knowledge it is not just passively assimilating knowledge, content, an object. We admit the idea that we must start from something, but in order to have knowledge that something must be transformed, rethought, have to acquire new meaning and be re-elaborated. We can do this together, with other individuals, but each one, individually, needs to contribute his share of intellectuality and action.
Together, in this new school year, we want to strengthen our spirit so that the goals sought in our projects are successfully achieved. And on this journey we will need perseverance, a sense of commitment, dedication, rapport and responsibility.
It is with this spirit and love for education that we welcome and welcome you all: students, parents, teachers and other employees so that with vibration and joy we start our activities.
We hope that all of us can take ownership of the knowledge that will be presented to us this year. We also hope that each one follows their own steps, that they take new paths, that they dare, that they transform. We welcome and wish you a school year of commitment and resinification of social and educational to the students and their parents, to the teachers and employees of this great family called… (insert the name of the institution)
If the school were an orchestra, would it be possible to hear the symphony of human understanding?
How can there be a symphony if each musician has his instrument in a key? Where is the symphony author? Or is it that the orchestra doesn't want to play it?
The orchestra is out of tune.
And the conductor? Should he be held responsible for failure?
And listeners, why don't they scream?
Are they dumb?
No; they don't know how to scream.
They scream, sometimes, looking for failure in another musician due to the out-of-tune tone they emit.
Is that you? Are you also a musician in this orchestra?
The school will never be an orchestra, if each musician doesn't tune. Musicians must interpret the score of human understanding, to meet each listener in their individuality.
Simply touching is not enough.
The harmony between musicians and listeners is understanding, respect, donation, “assuming”, it is responsibility, involvement with the work.
React to the music. If a tone sounds out of tune, stop!
The waiting point is calm and long; with your help will come another song.
It will certainly be the beginning of a true orchestra where everyone can sing the music of Peace, Harmony, Collaboration, Mutual Respect.

“Once a child learns to learn, nothing can narrow his mind. The essence of teaching is to make learning contagious so that it infects others.” (Marva Collins, message for early childhood education)
Camila is very happy. In a few days, classes will start again: she will meet all her classmates and even a new teacher.
– It's going to be cool, I'll see Berenice, Vítor, Mariana, Léa and Teodora again!
– Will my new backpack, pretty, will be ready?
– Yes, everything will be ready! - Answers Mom, smiling.
- You know, for lunch, I would really like chocolate chip cookies. Not the orange ones, they're good, but I don't like them very much.
“Yeah, don't worry,” says Mom. – I know what you like.
– Oh, I'm not worried, because now I'm big. Miguel is a little afraid of going back to school, not me.
-It's true - says Mom. – Aunt Natalia is very happy that you are at the same school.
– I'll take good care of him, I promise! Ah! I can't forget about Teddy. He's also dying to go to school.
On the day of back to school, even though it's not the first time she goes to school, Camila squeezes Mom's hand tight.
With the other hand, she presses the teddy bear to her heart.
But as soon as she sees Berenice, Vítor, Mariana and Léa, Camila quickly hugs Mom and runs to her friends, near the slide.
At the same time, Aunt Natália and Uncle Guilherme arrive with Miguel who clings to his mother.
Camila slides down the slide and, overjoyed to see her cousin, runs towards her screaming.
- Miguel! Come play with me soon! You'll see, it's going to be really cool!
The little boy looks at his mother, father and cousin. He hesitates, then shyly walks over to Camila.
“I'm a little scared,” he says softly to his cousin. - There's a lot of people.
-Don't worry, I'm with you - Camila says, very proud of taking care of Miguel.
– Look, there's Monica, your teacher. She is sooo nice. And besides, she never gets angry.
Miguel looks at the girl coming towards him.
– Good morning, what's your name? – she asks, kindly.
“His name is Miguel,” Camila says.
– Will you come with me, Miguel? - Monica says giving him her hand.
– Don't worry, you're going back to play with Camila. I just want to show you your classroom. In the meantime, Camila, you can go say good morning to your new teacher.
A little disappointed not to accompany Miguel, Camila goes with her friends to hug her new teacher, Isabel.
“Good morning, kids,” she says. “Let's spend some time together this year. Come on, I'll take you to see your classroom.
The children, a little shy, cautiously enter the new room and inside they discover many things: books, pots with pencils, painting material, one corner with dolls, another with carts, another with cubes. Now there's more interesting stuff than in the old classroom.
'You can play,' says Isabel.
While they play, Camila thinks about Miguel.
“I hope he's not afraid” she thinks.
At recess, she meets her cousin again.
- And then? Are you enjoying? - question.
– Yeah, it's really cool. It's full of games! I can even play with the dolls, like in your house.
- Oh no! – exclaims Miguel as he unwraps his lunch.
– Mom sent my snack with guava candy!
– Hmm, they are our favorites, mine and Bear's.
- Let's change?! – shout the cousins at the same time.
– The school is really cool! – comment Camila and Miguel, while eating their snacks, sitting next to each other, before going to join their little friends.

The text below is really cool to read with students on the first day of class. An interesting tip that a teacher gave is, in the last two verses, where she says: “But I promise: this year, I will not go lend my eraser”, blank the part of the text in which the author puts his promise, so that the student can write his freely.
first day of school,
how good it is to start over! new suitcase, everything new
notebook, pencil in case,
all covered,
everything fixed,
everything tidy,
everything ready. I don't know the teacher,
she too will be new.
I know I'll like it,
and she will like me. I promise to study hard,
I'm going to be first in the class.
I will not be grounded,
I'm not even going to fight at recess.
all new, new life
New colleagues too.
But I promise: this year,
I won't borrow my eraser.
This year will be a success if…
there is a smile of optimism,
a dream of beauty in your heart and
poetry in small things: in the simplicity of the flower,
in the innocence of children, in the interior silence,
in friendship, in the present moment,
in the opportunity to be good, to be friendly and understanding;
sensitive to the suffering of others,
grateful to the past that provided him with experiences for the future.
This year will be a success if…
you be frank without hurting,
have faith in yourself, in others and in God and,
above all, expressing what you think of the other
with a word of affection, support,
of recognition, of kindness and encouragement.
This year will be a success if…
you know how to overcome laziness, pride,
indifference to the sufferer, the temptation of wealth, intrigue and envy,
from intolerance to the ignorant, to those who have ideas different from yours,
to the least intelligent, to the selfish, to the petty.
This year will be a success if…
you help those in need, advising them,
reaching out to him, giving him help at the right time,
saving material goods,
oozing love and solidarity,
understanding the child and the elderly,
the adult who had no childhood and the one who does not know how to love.
This year will be a success if…
you say a "good morning" from the heart and
face misadventures with sport, sow peace and love,
vibrate with the happiness of others, with the beauty of the sun waking up the day,
with the dew drop on the flower.
This year will be a success if…
you value each victory and the world of opportunity
that open up before you and,
start each day with God!
If you're sensitive to all this,
so this year will be a success for you and
for those who live around you!
