Once, a boy woke up on Christmas Eve, very happy that a very important date was about to arrive.
It was the birthday of the baby Jesus, and of course, the day that Santa Claus came to visit him every year.
He anxiously awaited nightfall, to go back to sleep and look at his sock that was in front of the door, as there was no Christmas tree.
He slept very late, to see if he could catch that “old man”, but as sleep was greater than his will, he slept soundly.
On Christmas morning, he noticed that his stocking was not there, and that there were no presents in the entire house.
– My son, come here!
- Dad?
– Right, son?”
– Did Santa Claus forget about me?
The father hugs his son …
– Did he also forget about Mr. Daddy?
– No, my son… the best gift I could have ever had is in my arms, and rest assured, because I know Santa Claus hasn't forgotten about you.
– But … all the other neighboring children are playing with their presents… I think he skipped our house…
– You didn't, my son…
The two walked aimlessly, until arriving at a park and there they walked, played and had fun for the rest of the day, returning only at the beginning of the night.
Arriving home, already very tired, the boy went to his room, and wrote a note to Santa Claus:
"Dear Santa Claus,
I want to thank you for the gift you gave me. I wish that every Christmas I spend, make my father forget his problems, and that he can have fun with me, having a wonderful afternoon like today.
Thank you for my life, because I discovered that it's not toys that make me happy, but with the true feeling that is inside us, that you awaken at Christmas. Thanks.
… and went to sleep…
Entering the room to say good night to his son, the father saw the note, and from that day on, he did not let that his problems affect his happiness, and he started making every day a Christmas for both.
