Born in 1889, in Villa Boa de Goyaz, she revealed her writing talent early on, but she was obliged to sign the that she published in local newspapers with a male name: “Where have you ever seen a young maiden who writes and publishes verses and chronicles!”. Leaving Goiás, she went to the interior of São Paulo and exercised various trades. She owned a haberdashery, planted and sold flowers, corn, everything her ingenuity and art allowed. She raised her children and returned, much later, to Goiás, where she was a famous pastry chef.
She had working hands, capable of writing, on any piece of paper, pertinent remarks, excerpts from poems, drafts of letters, chronicles, translations of her realistic and sensitive gaze.
