The jacuguaçu (dark penelope) is a popularly known bird that draws attention by its appearance and also by the different sounds it emits.
With about 75 centimeters, the species has a dark plumage and a reddish contrast in the throat region. The male also has the iris in the same tone as the dewlap.
In addition to having a non-discreet vocalization, a curiosity is that it also emits sound when flapping its wings. Common to be observed in _____ groups, the species is considered a seed disperser and has already suffered certain threats in the past, due to being hunted.
