– Look what a cool timer! – says Giro, the giraffe, to the friends in the playground.
– What do you do with it? – asks the hippopotamus Horace.
“You can see how long something takes,” Giro explains.
He clicks the clock and the numbers start ticking. When he clicks again, they stop.
'It took five seconds,' he says, checking. – These are the minutes, and here are the seconds. Seconds are shorter, and minutes take longer,” he explains. - Come here.

Giro leads them to the grand staircase that leads to the clock tower in the village hall.
– Let's see who can get up and down the steps faster? - he suggests.
– Yeahmmm! – exclaims the friends. They love it.
- I go first! I'm sure I will win! - Silvia the snake laughs. Indeed, she slides up and down the stairs in no time.
– One minute and four seconds! – Spin exclaims.
Friends go up and down, one by one.
– Now look at me! – exclaims Horacio.
Horacio climbs the steps heavily and slowly. But it goes down fast, slipping on its back.
– One minute and two seconds! – Giro announces.
– HUUU, HO-HO-HO-! HUUU, HO-HO-HO-HO!
Horacio's laugh spreads through the air.
– It hurt a little, but I won! - He laughs.
