Scientists at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) in California are convinced they managed to film the black devil fish.
The filming of the black devil fish deserves a celebration, because for the first time in human history, it was achieved filming a living species in such deep waters: from 3,000 to 4,000 meters, that is, 3 to 4 kilometers, in the dark total.
The abyssal fish scientifically named as Melanocetus Johnsonii it is one of the most difficult species to be captured in its natural habitat.
It has a long antennae on its head full of bioluminescent bacteria that light up to attract other fish and squid for food.
The devil fish from the depths of the sea was an inspiration for the creators of “Buscando Nemo”. They created a sea monster that almost eats Nemo and Dori's father while searching the ocean for Nemo.
