Cassio the bear had never seen an egg, so he was delighted when he found one in the forest. He took the egg and shook it. Cassio thought he heard something, but continued walking.
"I'll take you home, little friend," said the bear to the egg.
Cassio didn't tell his mother anything and even gave the egg a name: Peony.
One day, Cassio saw that the egg was cracked. The little bear was desperate and ended up asking his mother for help:
– Mom, my Peonian egg is hurt!
– He is breaking, my son.
Cassio's mother now understood everything:
“That's why you've been talking to yourself lately.
Suddenly, a chick came out of the egg, calling for its mother.
– He must be the son of Dona Leia, the chicken. She was looking for an egg that she had lost – clarified Cassio's mother.
Peony was indeed Leia's lost son, and she liked the name Cassius had given her child. The hen was grateful that the little bear had taken such care of the egg.
Cassio and Peony became inseparable friends.
