When using the microwave, care must be taken with some materials. Liquids, for example, can have a high heat and cause burns when taken out of the oven. Closed containers and food can explode inside the oven due to the pressure, just as happened in the initial experiment, before the creation of the household appliance. As with a conventional oven, products heated for too long can catch fire. Metal objects, including aluminum foil, should not be used inside the microwave oven as the metal can create a spark inside the oven.
