The bird, which is of medium size, measures between 22 and 25 cm in length and weighs an average of 60 grams. A typical Latin American animal, it was introduced to Bermuda in 1957 and in the 70s to Tobago. With great adaptability, in Brazil it can be found in cities, forests and places close to aquatic environments, such as lakes and rivers.
The bird builds its spherical nest with grass, vegetable branches and can even use, especially in urban areas, paper, plastic and wires. The true bliss lays about four eggs.
The real good-tee eats everything from fruits and flowers to insects and bird eggs. These birds are aggressive, threatening even hawks and vultures when they approach their territory. They usually walk alone, but can be seen in groups of three or four.
