The japuguaçu usually stays in the canopy of humid forests, usually in large flocks. Sometimes it mixes with the japus and the green japus. It resembles them in the construction of the nest, with hanging and twisted structures, installed high in the trees.
In the bird's menu, there are fruits and seeds, however, as it is omnivorous, it can also feed on the eggs of other birds.
