Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. When talking about planets, in general, we only remember these. But did you know that several “planets” have been discovered that are beyond Pluto, one of which is even bigger than this celestial body? The new "planets" are the largest objects in the so-called Kuiper belt. Some of these planets already have official names, such as Sedna, Quaoar, Ixion and Varuna. The biggest of them is still known by the acronym 2003 UB313.
Today, we also know that there are planets around stars other than the Sun. More than a hundred are already known. In recent years, probes have landed or flew over several planets, new moons have been discovered on several of them, and even new planets, such as those mentioned above, have been located. For you to see how knowledge about the Solar System is always changing and increasing rapidly over the years.
