Calado was a parrot unlike any other. He didn't speak a word and was very embarrassed when someone brought up a subject with him. The forest animals were curious to find out why Calado was practically mute.
– Could it be that he has no language or has not yet learned to speak? – the hummingbird questioned.
– I think he is ashamed of public speaking. Maybe he talks to himself - said the spider.
The truth is that that mystery was keeping the forest dwellers awake at night.
Days passed, and a big singing contest was taking place in the forest. Several animals performed and after all had sung. Calado took the stage to participate. The animals were even more curious, because if the parrot barely spoke, how would he sing?
But Calado surprised everyone, sang a beautiful song and won the contest. When it was time to say thank you, the parrot killed the animals' curiosity: he was a stutterer, that's why he didn't like to talk very much, but he sang like no one else.
