On August 24, 1944, Paulo Leminski was born. Poet, writer, translator and teacher of History, Writing and even a black belt in judo! Since he was a child, Leminski has always attracted attention for his culture and genius. It was early on that people from Curitiba invented their own way of writing poetry, with short poems, puns and visual experiments. The artist also partnered with important names in Brazilian music, such as Arnaldo Antunes, Caetano Veloso, Itamar Assumpção, Moraes Moreira, among many others.
Among his many books, we highlight the children's and youth book "War within us", which tells the story of a poor boy who meets an old man who offers to teach him the art of war. The boy decides to accompany him on a journey, which helps him to better understand life and discover what was in that man's heart.
It is also worth checking out the collection “Bicho Alfabeto”, which brings 26 poems selected from the book “Toda Poesia”. With illustrations by Ziraldo, the alphabet animal wanders through the world of letters, creating words, verses and poems.
