NAME:

the dreaded haircut

The Hippopotamus Horacio hates to cut his hair. He's afraid they'll cut the little ears together. He's sitting in the barber's chair in front of the mirror at the Big Island barbershop.
“Now, Horacio, just sit up straight and everything will be fine,” Papa hippopotamus says affectionately.
But Horacio's ears keep moving left and right. He is so nervous! The barber starts to cut.

Click! Click! Click! The scissors go right by his ears. Small locks fall to the ground.
– Half is gone! – hums the barber right away. But poor Horacio cannot keep his ears still.
Snip! Snip! Snip! The barber's scissors are very close to Horacio's ear now. He jumps.
- There! That hurts! – yells the barber. He sucks the tip of his little finger.
- Sorry! – asked Horacio. It's just that I got scared.
The barber looks at his finger.
– It was just a mince. It's not even bleeding – he smiles.
But it was enough for Horacio. He gets up from his chair holding his ears.
– I never want to cut my hair again! - He yells.
Hippo daddy gives him a big hug.
– It was just an accident, Horacio. Will not happen again.
- Right. Will not! – exclaims Horacio – I'll never come back! - And he leaves slamming the door.
