According to the Houaiss dictionary, the word “sacred” refers to what concerns or is proper to God, a deity, religion, worship or rites; to what is holy. It is also used to refer to something very dear.
If we look back, we will see that religions have followed human history for a long time. They are based on rituals practiced individually or in groups and on the belief in a greater force, to which feelings of love, trust or respect are dedicated. Each religion, however, determines what is sacred to itself and what its followers must do to get closer and closer to that sacred someone/something.
There are also people who have no religion and those who do not believe in the existence of something sacred. The name of atheist or atheist is given to those who do not believe in God or in gods.
