Religious intolerance is a set of ideologies and attitudes that are offensive to different beliefs and religions. In extreme cases, this kind of intolerance becomes persecution. Being defined as a hate crime that harms human freedom and dignity, religious persecution is extremely serious and often be characterized by offense, discrimination and even acts that affect the life of a certain group that has certain beliefs in common.

Freedoms of expression and worship are guaranteed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Brazilian Federal Constitution. The religion and belief of a human being should not constitute barriers to fraternal and better human relations. Everyone must be respected and treated equally before the law, regardless of religious orientation.
