Some people perspire more than others, and often complain about it, considering that sweating is a very unpleasant nuisance. As uncomfortable as we feel when we're sweating too much, it's important to remember that sweating is primarily for cooling off. This happens because, along with the water that leaves our body when we are sweating, the remaining heat also leaves. The armpits, groin, palms and soles of the feet are the parts of the body where we sweat the most. Babies, unlike adults, perspire all over their bodies, especially their heads, because it is only at puberty that hormones activate the sweat glands in the feet, hands, armpits and groin.
