Toronto police officer Christopher McCollough told CTV News how it all happened. “The vehicle had no front license plate. However, when the Porsche passed the police car, we saw that the rear license plate was also missing”, he narrated.
I mean, they thought it was missing. When they looked closer, they saw that the driver had a device to hide his license plate. Not only that, but everything happened at the push of a button.
Still in an interview with the Canadian press, the policeman pointed out that the driver received two fines of US$ 110: one for having an obstructed license plate and another for not having a front plate. In addition, he may receive further charges if he has used the device to evade toll payments.
In addition to not paying the tolls, possibly the driver used this ruse to infringe other traffic laws freely, such as running a red light or exceeding the speed limit of ways.
Furthermore, Canadians take tax evasion very seriously.
Here in Brazil, driving a vehicle without a visible license plate is also an infraction. More than that, it is a very serious infraction.
