Thays founded a non-profit organization specializing in the training of guide dogs, the “Instituto Iris”. You can request an animal for free – you need to join a waiting list: fb.com/fanpageiriscaoguia.
People with visual impairments, users of guide dogs, have the right to enter and stay with the animal in public and private vehicles and establishments for collective use. The achievement is guaranteed by federal law nº 11.126, of 2005.
When encountering a guide dog on the street, don't distract him. Avoid calling him, touching him or offering him food. Don't forget he's on duty, not playing. The best thing to do is to ignore him, leaving him alone to do his job.
