The new National Identity Card aims to update the general identification system of Brazilian citizens, making it safer and easier. In addition to the CPF as the new general identification number, the new identity card will feature the international standard MRZ, the same used in passports issued by the Federal Police.
In addition, the card will present a single standard throughout the national territory, different from the previous document, in the which each state adopts a standard with a different general registration number, depending on where the document was issued. Authentication by QR Code and analysis of the person's blood group and RH factor in the document are also new features implemented.
