There are many ways to dry flowers so they last longer. Whether to decorate interiors, cards, albums and candles or to store for a longer time and use them as a spice to make tea.
First, choose the flower you want to dehydrate, wait until the end of a hot, dry day so that the moisture has been removed, and remove the flower from the plant by cutting the stem, without the leaves. Now we will introduce you to two methods for drying the flower and just choose the simplest one for you!
Take a book or notebook, open it, place the flower on one of the pages without the petals bending. Then take a break of several pages, place the next flower on another sheet and continue doing this procedure until the flowers are finished.
Use a heavy item to place on top of the book or notebook, it could be a brick, potted plant with only the earth, stones, door weight or any other object to press the flowers and let it rest for 2 to 4 weeks. After that period, just remove the flowers from the book, wrap them in butter paper or paper towel and save!
After selecting the flowers, wrap the stems with a piece of thin string, tie in a knot and hang on a wire or string without making the flowers crooked, as they will dry the same way they are suspended.
Let the flowers dry for 2 to 4 weeks and avoid touching them so they don't slip. At the end of the process you can spray hairspray so that the flowers keep their original shape!
