The result of the contest for assistant professor of the Department of Genetics, Ecology and Evolution of Institute of Biological Sciences (ICB) was suspended by the Federal Court at the request of the Public Ministry Federal (MPF). The case took place at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) when it appeared that the first place in the contest had prepared the test.

The professor was quoted to lead the position in 2018, as reported by the MPF, and since then he has participated in the entire definition and preparation stage of the test. Participation was proven through the documents signed during the process.
The public notice for the contest was published in 2019 and the university employee resigned from the department in November of the same year, enrolling in the contest days after the dismissal.
The person approved in first place headed the Department of General Biology at UFMG and it was found that he participated in the entire selection process that guaranteed the vacancy.
According to the Public Prosecutor Adailton Ramos, the professional's participation during the preparation of the test violates the right of equality in the competition of public office and the act is not allowed before law.
In analyzing the case, the attorney also guarantees that UFMG's organizational system was fragile in the face of the case presented. As it is against the law, the teacher's participation will not be valid and he will not be able to take office.
“As administrative morality is a broad concept that includes integrity, honesty, probity and impartiality, it is clear that the teacher deliberately acted in flagrant conflict of interests, undermining the impartiality and fairness of the selection process”, said the Federal Public Ministry about the case.
In its defense, UFMG published a note stating that it collaborates with the investigations of the case and suspended the competition for the position of adjunct professor at the ICB.
