Taking care of the teeth and other components of the mouth can be a way to increase the amount of the Brazil Aid for several recipients of the benefit. The reason is because of a bill in progress in the Senate that intends to include good oral hygiene in the list of requirements of the program.
Authored by Senator Plínio Valério (PSDB-AM), the draft was developed with the justification of making the health of beneficiaries paramount. If approved, the condition will oblige children to have specialized dentist follow-up in their first years of life.
“If consultation with oral health professionals becomes conditional, children will be able to receive continuous care from the first year of life, receiving dental treatment and guidance on oral hygiene. With this, we hope to stimulate an increase in the demand for dental services and, thus, reduce the occurrence of serious health problems caused by poor oral hygiene, especially in the most vulnerable part of society", says Plínio Valerius.
