What is an instructional text? See features and examples

Have you heard about instructional text? I bet you do, even if you don't remember the name. The instructional text is a textual genre whose main characteristic is information. That is, this text is nothing more than a text that passes information so that instruct the reader to do something.

Thus, the instructional text is responsible for assisting in carrying out actions, both as a right way to do something, and to assemble a piece of furniture, for example.

Another example are the revenues that give the step by step and the right amount to make a cake, or a pie, etc. Thus, instructional texts are needed to perform some tasks.

As for the language, in this textual genre, the appealing function, being completely objective and clear. In addition, verbs are used in the imperative, as it is important how to induce the reader to do something and the use of persuasion.

Materials

You will need:

• 2 bamboo or coconut straw sticks;
• Colored adhesive tape;
• blunt-edge scissors;
• Tissue paper;
• Crepe paper or silk (for the tail);
• Line #10.

How to make:

• Cut the tissue paper in the shape of a square, approximately 30 cm;
• Glue one of the toothpicks diagonally;
• Make an arch with the other toothpick and glue it crossing over the toothpick that is already glued;
• Drill two holes where the two sticks cross (one hole on each side);
• Thread the thread through the holes and, without cutting it, tie a knot. Tie the line to pull the kite from the knot;
• Finally, make a very colorful tail, with crepe paper (just cut some strips of colored crepe paper) or paper silk (cut some pieces of paper and stick it on a thread) and then just tie it to the kite (at the bottom of the rod straight). Your kite is ready for you to play!
