A Netflix reported seeing 14% growth in views during the Facebook and Instagram slump. The company continues to be one of the top streaming services, growing substantially in subscriber numbers, especially in the past year with the pandemic.

On October 4th, a global outage occurred that affected major social media apps. The drop affected Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp.
Users were blocked from accessing their accounts, where they can spend time messaging others, checking news updates or posting images.
The outage lasted for about six hours. Many had to resort to other platforms.
According to Variety, Netflix disclosed in its quarterly earnings report that the streaming service's engagement increased by 14% during the outage.
Netflix also saw audience growth last month with the release of the comedy series Seinfeld.
More impressive than that was the haunting performance of Korean survival drama Round 6. The series has been watched by 142 million households, as per the reports.
Along with the release of the third season of You and the next season of Cobra Kai, the platform must continue this trajectory through the fourth quarter of the year, with the third quarter adding 4.4 million members.
