Through a partnership signed between the Geological Survey of Brazil (SGB) and Google, announced in the city of Florianópolis – SC, the platform will issue flood alerts.
These warnings will be possible thanks to a combination of information, such as water levels found in rivers, images captured by satellite and meteorological indicators. All this in real time, with the well-known application Google Maps, in addition to the FloodHub flood platform.

The floods that occur in cities at the headwaters of rivers are not yet included in this system, for generally occur more quickly, as well as in large urban centers on days of heavy rain and sudden.
