O PagBank PagSeguro achieved the feat of conquering 9 million new customers in one year, going from 14.8 million users to 23.5 million. So, the institution recorded a net profit of 350 million reais for the first quarter of 2022, a significant increase of 29% compared to the same period last year. This data was disclosed last Wednesday, 8, in the company's balance sheet.

In fact, the company's profit growth exceeded by 20% what analysts had predicted. In this sense, it is worth emphasizing that PagBank is the second largest Brazilian digital bank, second only to Nubank. With these results that were shown by the survey, the company ended up consolidating itself as the most profitable in the market until then.
Thus, the co-CEO of PagBank PagSeguro, Alexandre Magnani, says that currently the institution has all the its focus on finding customers that bring more revenue to the company, and not just inflate the number of users.
“Over time, we have learned to calibrate the best offers for customers and better select sales channels to have a better quality customers here, who bring in higher revenues, with a greater propensity to consume financial products,” he says. Magnani.
Thus, according to Artur Schunck, CFO of PagBank PagSeguro, the next step the company must take will be towards granting loans. “Credit is something that moves banks in Brazil, but it is not something trivial to do. The economy is difficult, family debt is quite high, so we are conservative, attentive to what happens in the market”, he says.
