This text aims to institute an aid called Vale-Sacolão, whose monthly value would be R$ 250.
Presented by federal deputy José Nelto (PP-GO), the PL represents a concrete response to food insecurity that impacts a significant part of Brazilian society.
Such aid would support the poorest households by enabling them to purchase essential foods and fruit from supermarkets and specialty stores. Meet the new proposal!
Bill nº 1084/22 proposes the institution of a benefit called “Vale-Sacolão”, which would be destined to families that have an income equal to or less than one minimum wage and that are already registered in the Single Registry (CadUnique).
However, a relevant element to be highlighted is the proposal to change the project, in the form of a substitute. This modification aims to incorporate the Vale-Sacolão to the Social Program Alimenta Brasil, in order to avoid the duplication of programs with similar objectives.

As indicated in the text, in situations where food is readily available for donation, the priority is to allocate them mainly to families that include pregnant women, nursing mothers and children in the initial phase from childhood.
This direction reinforces the concern to provide food support to the most vulnerable categories within the population.
Despite having been approved by the Social Security and Family Commission, the PL still needs to go through a trajectory in the Chamber of Deputies.
The next step is to submit the proposal for admissibility assessment by the Finance and Taxation Commission (CFT) and the Constitution, Justice and Citizenship Commission.
The concession of the benefit will only occur after the definitive approval of the project by the deputies and senators.
While the text remains under review in the Chamber of Deputies, citizens have the opportunity to follow updates related to this initiative on Chamber website.
