If you have a R$2 note from the 2017 series, it's best to keep it, because soon it could be worth much more than the number printed on it suggests.
Manufactured in Sweden in 2017 by the company Crane AB, this note already had a considerable value on the collectors market since its launch: around R$5.
But what makes it so special is that the company name was engraved directly on the image of the ballot, which gives it an even greater market valuation.
In Brazil, such banknotes are surprisingly common, with approximately 100 million units in circulation.
If you look around you, you'll notice that about one in ten people have one of these in their pocket, wallet, backpack or somewhere else.
Now, why has this note become the center of collectors' attention and how can you know if yours has the potential to become a valuable relic in the future?
The answer lies in a subtle detail on the banknote: instead of having the name “Casa da Moeda”, the lower left part features the letters “DZ”.

There is still no concrete estimate of the value that such banknotes could reach on the market, but experts in numismatics and auction houses from Brazil indicate that if you have one of them, it is a smart idea to keep it, as it has the potential for it to be quite valuable.
In addition to being a unique piece for collectors, the item carries a part of Brazil's financial history.
Its production contributed to a 17% reduction in printing costs for public coffers, making it a milestone in the evolution of National coin.
So, the next time you come across R$2 from 2017 with the letters “DZ”, remember that it could be more than just a banknote. It can be a “paper treasure”, a R$2 bill that is worth much more than you imagine.
