The History of the old Natura Ekos Soaps that Went Viral on Twitter

To win soaps as a gift is always a joy for many. Some enjoy it immediately during their next shower, while others have a peculiar way of enjoying the treat: they keep it in their wardrobe to maintain that special aroma.

However, illustrator and designer Peu Magalhães surprised everyone by revealing that he didn't keep the soaps from Natura's Ekos line just for the characteristic smell.

In a relaxed post on Twitter, Peu shared a photo of the box of soap he received as a gift from his mother in 2020. The particularity? He confesses to having kept the soaps for three years, not to preserve the aroma, but to keep intact the carved images of workers from the Amazon region that decorate the bars.

“My mother gave me this box of soap a long time ago and I only used one, because I really regret using them”, he revealed in the caption of the post. And the post couldn't be clearer: “@naturabroficial, launch this kit again, people are crying.”

The limited edition, originally launched for Christmas 2019 with four units, was missed. There were so many requests for the relaunch of the Natura Ekos Colheita case that even the company spoke out. Natura explained that the products were only available while stocks lasted.

The story doesn't stop there. Several users shared their experiences, saying that the soaps were not only fragrant, but also had unique moisturizing properties. Furthermore, many highlighted the importance of representation in packaging, praising Natura for highlighting workers from the Amazon region.

The movement on social media not only revived the nostalgia of Ekos soaps, but also opened space for a broader discussion about the appreciation of artisanal products and the importance of keeping traditions alive regional.

Will Natura respond to fans' passionate requests and bring back this special edition? Now, it remains to be seen whether the commotion on social media will be enough to bring back these true works of art or, perhaps, encourage new creations.
