The most important constellation in the southern hemisphere, the Cruzeiro do Sul constellation, is seen only from the southern hemisphere, being part of the southern constellations.

The constellations seen from the northern hemisphere, which would be Ursa Major and Ursa Minor, are called boreal constellations.

Each constellation has its most important star, the polar star Ursa minor is an example and also the star Sirus in the constellation Can major. Because of their importance, they are the brightest in the sky.

There are equatorial constellations in addition to the austral ones in the southern hemisphere and boreal constellations in the northern hemisphere. These equatorial constellations are located near the celestial equator (Orion).

And the zodiacal constellations are close to the northern and southern celestial boundaries.

Many of these constellations can be clearly seen from the two hemispheres, such as the constellation of Scorpio and the constellation of Orion.

names

the names of main constellations they come from the imaginary representation that arises in the sky when we turn on the nearby stars while observing all this stellar vastness.

From here on earth they seem to be close, but in fact, they are far away in celestial space. The names can mean the formation of stars that can be people, animals, objects or beings of mythology.

constellation as guide

Even today, mariners, fishermen and the like are based on the constellations as a maritime reference. The well-known Greek scientist Ptolemy in II a. Ç. he listed 48 constellations in Almagest.

Other important researchers were astronomers Johann Bayer, Johannes Hevelius and Nicolas Louis de Lacaille.

Zodiac constellations

In astrology there are 12 constellations that correspond to the 12 signs, which are divided into the 12 months of the year and are based on the position of the stars on the date of birth. Are they:
