Since its creation in 1971, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has worked to bring humanitarian medical care to people in need. For years, the organization has been present in countries of origin of refugees, such as Syria, South Sudan and Afghanistan, and in countries where they have sought shelter, such as Jordan, Lebanon and Tanzania. Since 2002, the organization has provided care in reception centers for refugees and migrants in Europe, whose harsh immigration policies have increased the torment of those seeking protection.
In 2015, with the increasing influx of populations desperately trying to reach Europe in unsafe vessels, MSF started to carry out search and rescue operations in the Mediterranean. On the MSF Calendar 2017 pages, you will learn stories of people we serve and the experience of our professionals in this care.
