The charming city is 107 km from Diamantina in the Vale do Rio Doce region, forming part of the Diamond Circuit.
It is known for the historic farms that produce Serro cheese, that cheese with a white, thin and very consistent mass. Characteristics of the region, such as the climate, the cattle pasture and the relief, define the flavor and the way in which Serro cheese is produced.
